Many thanks to Karateka from Selby and Haxby that attended the Kick for Cancer event along with Ashley from St John's Ambulance cadets at Selby.
We raised over £240 this afternoon and there is still a bit more sponsorship to come in.
Please pass any monies to Claire Hardy at Barlby or Hambleton dojos.
When we have a total in a few weeks time I will post the details.
It is great to see our kids raising some monies for this really worthwhile cause to benefit kids who are less fortunate.
We also had a great afternoon.
My thanks also goes to Claire for suggesting the event, Sensei Andy, Simon and Mikey for their goal keeping skills, and for Kelvin for his refereeing...look out Howard FIFA has seen some potential.
Congratulations to Ellie, Ashley and Liam for winning all the prizes.

Sensei Ohta 7th Dan JKA in Yorkshire
A great weekend training with Ohta Sensei.
Saturday - York - Kihon, Kumite and Kata (Tekki Shodan & Gankaku)
Sunday - Boroughbridge - Kata Course but there was 1hr 40mins of Kihon and Kumite before we started kata, then Gojushiho Sho and Meikyo.
Although Simon and I were invited to join the JKA we did not realise that it was supposed to be a closed course.
Many thanks to JKA Boroughbridge for letting us train, Osu!

18th July - Kick for Children with Cancer
Just a reminder that the Kick for Children with Cancer event replaces our normal training session at Barlby on Sunday 18th July. Just turn up in loose sports clothing and have a great time raising some money for a really worthwhile cause. You should all have your sponsor packs by now, if not just drop Paul a mail. We would like for you to try and collect your pledges and bring the monies on the day so we can send it off straight away.
"Kick for Children with Cancer" is a national sponsored football event, raising money for CLIC Sargent, the children’s cancer charity, patroned by Gary Lineker.
This year they hope to raise £150,000 to support children with cancer and their families. They want 100,000 children taking part. Schools, clubs and groups can choose to keep 25% of the money they raise with 75% going to support CLIC Sargent.
The money you raise by taking part in Kick for Children with Cancer will help CLIC Sargent continue its vital support and services to children with cancer and their families.
Watch the film to see how your support will make a real difference.
