You Tube Fame for Sensei Helen

Last week Sensei Helen was more than a little "dis-chuffed" when I informed her that the only way I knew of getting the couple of videos we took in Hungary on the blog was to upload them to you tube and then embed them.

I reassured her that although they were on you tube, the chances of anyone actually watching them was quite slim.

Well Helen it seems I was wrong ...again.

The videos have been posted for a week and already there have been about 250 views, 85 people watching Helen's Heian Sandan, which I still say she was unlucky to loose.

Anyway Helen look forward to some fan mail rolling in from all round the world.

Dave Hooper Sensei JKA at York

Many thanks Sensei, a great course last night, our thanks to our friends at York Kenshinkan for inviting us. I hope it will be the first of many visits.
Sensei concentrated on correct transition of weight in movement and hip movement.
One thing that I will take away from the course was that Sensei said we were all trying to hard, just relax, karate must be natural, concentrate on technique and everything else will come in time.

    Helen's Video from Budapest

Sensei Helen - Female Kata Competition IJKA European Championships Budapest Hungary July 2007

Helen did well, the Russian Chief Instructor was the main judge and gave Sensei Helen the decision sadly the four other corner judges saw it differently.

Helen found the training course and the championships a big motivator and is training harder than ever now.

    Rebecca's Videos from Hungary

Rebecca competed for the first time in the European Championships in Budapest Hungary in July 2007.

Below: Rebecca perform Bassai Dai in the 14 and 15 year old female Kata competition

Rebecca was not happy with her kata, as always you can always do better in your own dojo in familiar surroundings.

Below: Rebecca competes in the 14 - 15 year old female Kumite

Rebecca was a little daunted by European kumite, good experience for the future and a chance to make new friends.

Below: Belt training from the course preceding the championships
