Welcome to all our new Karateka

It has been a great start to the new year, with a few new faces.
What we are most pleased about is that we have attracted new members from all the main sources.
  • A couple of parents have taken the big plunge to join their children in training, I am sure that Lewis and Ciaron will benefit from your interest in Karate.
  • A few brothers and sisters have started Karate for the first time, James and Nathan.
  • We have welcome karateka that have joined us from previous clubs, Neil and Emma. It is not easy adapting to a new style , but keep up the hard work. You have both made an excellent start.
  • Joshua, Michael,Georgia and Gabby are trying out Karate for the first time, I hope you enjoy your training with us.
  • We are also fortunate to have a couple of experienced karateka that have decided to return to Karate after a few years sabbatical, Andy and Richard just take it easy to begin with.

Your beginners course will run for 10 weeks, with a view to grading in June. If you like what we do please spread the word, if you are uncomfortable with anything please speak to us. We will work with you so that you can achieve your own goals.

During the first few weeks training always seems a little slow, but soon you will have some new skills under your belt to build on and it will get easier and more rewarding.

Remember you will only get out what you put in.

    • This is the VERY best karate Blog I've come across.

I love how you acknowledge all the new students - parents, brothers and sisters, from other clubs, returning students...

Great ideas for those who are looking to grow their dojo - it's easy to remember who the most likely new students are going to be!

      Thanks for the read.

    • Many thanks for you kind words, it is all too easy to forget when you started out and seemed to loose all ability to step normaly and know your left from right.

    • Well I am upset, you`ve forgotten to mention me as a new starter! I have really enjoyed my first experiences. Obviously not that memorable for anyone else! Must try harder.

    • Kelvin,
Appoligies memory not lasting up too well in old age. I will also try harder.
Kelvin has joined us so he can defend himself from his children who train with one of my old Jiu Jitsu Sensei (Sensei Stacey Burns) at Riccall.
I see alot of traits in Kelvin similar to myself, you will be surprised how your skills will change in the coming months.
I will do a full post of all members joining our club at the end of your beginners course.
I also plan to do a few posts of books that I have found helpful, somethig that I know you are interested in Kelvn.
      Osu!

    • This trait...... is it a good thing?........or bad

    • Kelvin,
The trait of seeking as much information as you can on what interests you.
The trait of pushing yourself out of your comfort zone.
The trait of suceeding at what you put your mind to, I can't see you giving up when it becomes hard.
      Regards
      Paul
